Potato Olympics Opening Ceremonies

What an exciting day our Potato Olympics Opening Ceremonies was!  The ceremonies started with the torch relay, whereby our lovely Principal carried the torch into the 'stadium' and lit the Cauldron.  All grade 4's then gathered on the basketball court to hear the welcoming speeches, and make their oath to the games.  Students then worked with their houses to create the Olympic rings, which will be hung throughout our Potato Olympics, and the Sochi 2014 Olympics.  All Potato Athlete's were welcomed to the Potato Olympics by country, and had to march with their flags to their allocated position around our Olympic rings.  After singing Advance Australian Fair, and doing "the wave", our 2014 Potato Olympics had official begun!
